Scharner admits admiration for Fulham boss
10:00 AM 06 November, 2009
PAUL SCHARNER has revealed his admiration for Fulham Football Club’s Roy Hodgson.

The Cottagers boss tried to sign the Wigan Athletic midfielder during the summer transfer window, and the Austrian admits he was flattered with his interest.

"It was flattering to hear Roy was interested in me,” Scharner told the Wigan Observer. "He was a manager in Norway when I played there so he knows me quite well from then.

"His teams always have a great mentality. He has worked all over the world and I think that gives any of his teams a very big advantage. I think he’s one of the best managers in the Premier League.”

Scharner will have another chance to impress the Craven Cottage boss on Sunday afternoon, when the Latics welcome the Londoners to the DW Stadium.
