Middlesbrough unlikely to land Phillips
Middlesbrough Football Club face a fight to land Kevin Phillips in January.
Gordon Strachan is said to fancy Phillips for the New Year transfer window, but Birmingham City have no plans to let the veteran striker leave St Andrews.
“We don't have any plans to get Kevin out of the door,” said manager Alex McLeish. "Kevin is still sprightly on the training ground, he is still worth something to our squad.”
Boro, meanwhile, have also been linked with an ambitious move for Federico Macheda, who started for Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
