Robinho’s father claims the forward is excited by the possibility of joining Barcelona.

The European Champions have made the Manchester City star a prime target for the New Year, particularly as he is eligible to play in the UEFA Champions League this season.

It is believed an offer for Robinho will be made as soon as the window reopens, and the father of the Brazilian international forward admits such a possibility is an exciting one for the player.

"He is a professional and he owes City with whom he has a contract, but if the clubs agree then the Barca option is very exciting,” Gilvan da Souza is quoted in the News of the World.
