Tottenham Hotspur face missing out on Petrov
10:30 AM 10 November, 2009
Martin Petrov is set to sign a new deal with Manchester City Football Club.

The Bulgarian international has often spoke of his frustration at not being a first team regular under Mark Hughes, although he remains a key member of the bigger picture at Eastlands.

It has been reported that Tottenham Hotspur are keen to take the former Atletico Madrid winger to White Hart Lane in the January window, with Harry Redknapp lining up an offer.

However, the News of the World claim Hughes has convinced Petrov of his importance to his plans, and a two-year contract will be penned shortly.
