Di Santo could get Blackburn Rovers green light
03:30 PM 11 November, 2009
Franco Di Santo could see out the season at Blackburn Rovers Football Club.

The young Argentine striker has impressed during a loan stint at Ewood Park, but Chelsea are expected to recall him to their squad in the New Year.

Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou will be missing for January as they head to the African Cup of Nations, but the Blues transfer embargo has now been lifted.

This has now given Rovers renewed hope that they can take Di Santo until the end of the season, although their chairman is taking nothing for granted.

“Nothing has changed in terms of time scale,” John Williams told the Lancashire Telegraph. "At the moment he is on loan until January 1. Nearer to that time negotiations will happen.

“Chelsea know we would be keen on extending his stay and of course the thing that would have made that more difficult seems as though it has been taken away.”
