Kevin Davies has slammed Bolton Wanderers Football Club’s performance at Villa Park.

Gary Megson’s side were hammered 5-1 at Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon, a result and performance which is deemed as embarrassing by Davies.

And the former Blackburn Rovers striker fears the Reebok Stadium club could be dragged into another relegation fight if they don’t improve.

"It was a pretty embarrassing performance from us and unacceptable," said the big striker. "We have to try and put it behind us and work extra hard in the next couple of weeks.

"If we're not too careful, we could end up in a relegation battle. We're leaking goals for fun at the minute. It's not just the defence, it's throughout the side - starting with me."
