West Ham United look towards £4million Carroll
Andy Carroll has been linked with a move to West Ham United Football Club.
Gianfranco Zola is desperate to add more firepower to his squad in January, as he looks to lead the Hammers away from a relegation fight they look likely to be involved in.
A 2-1 home defeat to Everton on Sunday leaves United in the bottom three of the Premier League, and their manager is hoping to be given funds to spend in the New Year.
Zola may well have to sell first before he is given the green light to buy, and this could result in the departure of Matthew Upson, a target for Tottenham Hotspur.
If money is made available it is believed the Italian coach will make an offer of £4million for striker Carroll, who is currently impressing for hometown club Newcastle United in the Championship.
