Stoke City Football Club’s Rory Delap accepts his international career may be over.
The 32-year-old has eleven caps for the Republic of Ireland, but as the last of these came some four years ago, he accepts he is unlikely to get the call from Giovanni Trapattoni.
"I'd like to play again, but it is four years since I was last in the squad and I can't see me getting the call again,” Delap told The Sentinel. "They have a young squad now.
“You never say never, but I don't see it happening. They have had big training squads and B internationals, but I've not heard anything so I'm not waiting by the phone.
"I just want to do well for Stoke City. I am trying to do the best I can for them and then anything else is out of my hands. But I am not going out there playing to try to get into the international side."
