Just how good is Arsenal’s Bendtner?
06:00 PM 12 November, 2009
Arsenal Football Club’s Nicklas Bendtner wants to be one of the best strikers in the world.

The 21-year-old has often been criticised by the fans at the Emirates Stadium due to some frustrating performances, but he has always had the backing of Arsene Wenger.

Bendtner appears to have improved since the departure of Emmanuel Adebayor, and after being named Denmark’s Player of the Year, he remains as ambitious as ever.

"I had three aims this year - to get into the Arsenal team, qualify for the World Cup and to be Player of the Year. I have achieved them all,” he told the Daily Mirror.

"I want to be top scorer in the Premier League, top scorer at the World Cup and, within five years, I want to be among the best strikers in the world."

There is no doubting Bendtner has the quality and potential to become a force in the Premier League, but can he really go on to become a true great?

This guy will become a great player without a doubt. His performances since the depature of Adebyor have been impressive and don't forget he has been used on the right wing this season. I suspect this is because Wenger wants him to learn how to dribble and cut in from the wings like Henry loved to do with great effect. Bentdners overall game has improved alot and i'm sure he will become one if leagues mist feared forwards once he used regularly in his preferred position.

He just might be!. It's still hard to imagine but not all players score 15 goals a season like he did last season and his best coming against Chelsea last season, and his best coming against Liverpool this season, He looks like he is out to suck blood out of the "BIG BOYS". If he continues like this, then he gives a perfect assist like he gave against Everton, He scores a screamer like he did against Blackburn, He will only be one title away from being a great and Arsenal seems more likely to win something this year. Even if it's the Carling Cup, He is a good reason why Arsenal are still in it. You may hate him, I don't like him much either BUT, The boy has shown in the past that he can score great goals with his RIGHT FOOT, LEFT FOOT & A HEADER and HE CAN ALSO MISS. He can do so well and also so badly BUT What he will do more frequently will earn him his future status, either a great or a flop

If he stoped talking and consentrated on the game and scoring the chances he gets he will be a good stricker .... I dont think he will ever be great because he has this weird attitute..... he is though a moving ginx ........ :) very unluky and brinks missfortune to the team :) the guy costs us the champios league game with liverpool and unitd .... remember when he stoped a shot from going in on the line ? 3 times?

Can't see it myself but Wenger likes him and as the old adage goes, he always knows. I say watch this space.

he will never be one of the best players in the wld he will never be a top scorer in any big league he has no confidanse he is narrow focused only runing from one place to another showing that he is hardworking while results are 0.002 he is nothing compare eduardo and simpson and im happy for his injury now eduardo will show the differance and the fact because when wenger likes someone he dosent see his mistakes at all but bendter is too fake

Only time will tell. But one thing we must acknowledge - he is hardworking on the pitch.

I think he tries, for sure, but I don't think he should make such claims at this point. Let us see what he does on the pitch rather than what he says. I'll give it to him for his bold statements but it'll be more realistic if it came from RVP.

Good enough to date the princess of Denmark and play for Arsenal at the same time ;-)

Bendtner needs to play more of a central role. When arsenal are 3-0 up, wenger shud take of van persie and replace him wit bendtner. Hes put out wide a lot so hez not given much chance. But still his finishing leaves a lot to be desired but all in all hez a good players. His goals against blackburn and portugal were classic

"Arsenal Football Club’s Nicklas Bendtner wants to be one of the best strikers in the world." Yea, well I want to sleep with Jessica Alba - neither is going to happen. Actually I'd put money on me bedding Ms Alba before I'd bet on Bendtner becoming one of the best strikers in the world - and I look like the elphant man with psoriasis. If Bendtner learns to develop a first touch that doesn't immediately give the ball away to the opposition and if he can learn to get out of the way of the shots of his teamates that are goal-baound then maybe...nah he'd would still only be suitable for resetting the pins in a bowling alley.

He does have a Big ego, and gets 'fairly' critiscized for his misses BUT I DO think he has it in him to be one of the best strikers in the future, When you compare his age and ability since joining us to Ade i dont think theres too much difference. Similar physique,Similar finishing LOL,Similiar Ego, hes quick and can pass... If Wenger believes in him i think theres a good chance HE WILL be good, ppl forget that hes still young and i think hes Nowhere near his peak yet. He DOES have some good games for us despite many calling him CRAP.

Ha ha ha laughable claim, the main problem with Bendtner is that he thinks he is already great and that in itself means he will always be little!!
