Chelsea Football Club’s Jose Bosingwa is likely to be sidelined for around three months.

The Portugal international has been struggling with a knee injury all season, and the Blues have confirmed he will be unavailable until the New Year.

A statement from the club read: "Chelsea can confirm that Jose Bosingwa underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. His recovery time will be approximately three months."

It’s not all bad news for the Premier League leaders though, as England star Ashley Cole’s fracture of the tibia does not require surgery.
