Roma are ready to battle Napoli for Liverpool Football Club’s Andrea Dossena.

The Italian is eager to quit the Anfield club for regular first team football, as he looks to stake a claim for the Azzurri squad ahead of the World Cup Finals.

Dossena has struggled for form since moving to England from Udinese, and Roma and Napoli are looking to take him back to Serie A in the New Year.

“Roma have made an initial approach," representative Roberto La Florio told Romanews.eu. “I am also aware that Napoli are interested in the lad. So, we’ll see what happens."
