Will van Persie injury force Arsenal into transfer market?
05:35 PM 15 November, 2009
Arsenal Football Club’s Robin van Persie has torn his ankle ligaments, so will Arsene Wenger now be tempted to add to his squad in January?

The forward lasted just ten minutes of Holland’s goalless draw with Italy on Saturday night, before being stretchered off following a challenge from Giorgio Chiellini.

The Dutch Football Association has now confirmed van Persie has torn his ankle ligaments, meaning he is likely to be out of action until the middle of February.

“The ankle ligaments are definitely torn," confirmed a Dutch FA spokesman. "After the match our medical staff did not mention a break in the bone but the doctors will be able to tell us for sure. It does not look too good."

Wenger’s side have made a superb start to the season, but the loss of van Persie is a huge blow – so should the Gunners look to add to their striker options in January?

Not as bad as it looks. Liverpool on the way down, Man.ure failing and Chelsky without Lampart. Arsenal will be miles ahead come Feb.

Guys trust me Eduardo is going to be F***ing shit hot. If the other teams found it hard to make RVP there job just got a lot harder. Eduardo is very hungrey. Remember we also have Mr Vella. This could be good for Arsenal. You can'y makr Eduardo as the same as RVP. Two diffrerant players. They don;t play in the same way. I think Eduardo is harder to mark then RVP. Thats what i think. But RVP is still the man. Get well soon....?

this is really bad for the gunners, especially at this point, they need to do somehting about this fast, and get him back as quick as possible. bendter is a solid player, but we need a reliable striker to replace robin right now. this sucks.
