Clough worried over Bolton’s Vaughan interest
Nigel Clough is worried to learn of Bolton Wanderers’ interest in James Vaughan.
The Derby County manager is said to have a verbal agreement with Everton that he player will return to the Championship side on loan when he recovers from his knee injury.
However, with Bolton reportedly willing to pay £3million to take Vaughan on a permanent basis in January, Clough admits he fears missing out on the forward.
“I was not aware of Bolton’s interest but I think James is keen to come back here and we have a deal in principle with Everton, so hopefully everybody will stick to that,” he said.
“A cash move could possibly change things. It all depends on how Everton view his future as well. If he does well with us, there is even the possibility it will increase his value.”
