Chelsea and Manchester United want to take Jack Rodwell off Everton.

The 18-year-old can play either as a central defender or as a defensive midfield player, and is rated as one of the brightest prospects in English football.

It is believed Chelsea have already had an offer of £14million rejected by the Toffees for their prized asset, whilst it is claimed United rate him at £16million.

The News of the World believe both clubs will try and lure Rodwell from Merseyside, although the Goodison Park club would not consider any offers lower than £20million.
