Carson urged to challenge for Sunderland spot
Trevor Carson has been urged to fight for a starting place at Sunderland Football Club.
Scotland international goalkeeper Craig Gordon faces three months on the sidelines with a broken arm, and Steve Bruce has challenged Carson to fight Marton Fulop to take his place.
"Marton Fulop's been there and done it before, but Trevor Carson has a chance to stake his claim, too,” the Black Cats manager has told the official club website.
"I was impressed with the way he handled himself in pre-season, so it's not a foregone conclusion that I'm going to pick Marton. Trevor has a chance to come in, too."
