Petrov/Bentley swap ideal for Tottenham Hotspur
01:30 PM 19 November, 2009
Tottenham Hotspur Football Club may be offered the chance to offload David Bentley in the New Year, in exchange for cash and top-target Martin Petrov.

Harry Redknapp has been a huge fan of Bulgarian international winger Petrov for some time, and has been linked with an offer for the player during the winter window.

The former Atletico Madrid star has struggled to nail down a regular start for Manchester City, and he has often expressed his frustration with his situation.

The Daily Star claim the Blues will offer Petrov, plus cash, to Spurs in exchange for David Bentley, who has endured a miserable time in London following his move from Blackburn Rovers.

The England player may see a return to the North West, and former Ewood Park boss Mark Hughes, as an opportunity to relaunch his Premier League career.
