Tottenham Hotspur ace sorry for Gordon blow
Jermain Defoe has apologised for unintentionally injuring Sunderland’s Craig Gordon.
The Tottenham Hotspur striker clashed with the Scotland goalkeeper earlier this month, which left the Black Cats number one facing a spell on the sidelines with a broken arm.
Gordon has criticised Defoe for the challenge, but the White Hart Lane striker has revealed it was a complete accident and he has apologised.
“It was a funny one, the ball got played through and I thought I could get a toe in - but there was no intention to hurt him," he told Sky Sports News.
"So I talked to Daren Bent, to text him and apologise and I did that - I think he is out for a couple of months so if he is watching I am sorry, he knows that is not my game."
