Alan Hansen believes Pepe Reina is one of the best goalkeepers in Liverpool’s history.

The Spaniard has been superb for the Reds since his move from Villarreal in the summer of 2005, and former Anfield idol Hansen has told the official club magazine he is up there with the best.

"Pepe has been invaluable again this season and should now be seen as one of Liverpool's greatest keepers,” said the Match of the Day pundit. "He's up there with Ray Clemence.

“If we didn't have him, we could have been in serious trouble. Liverpool's back four have struggled but if your back four is struggling with a dodgy keeper behind them, then it's the end of the story.”
