Sir Alex Ferguson admits he is unsure when Rio Ferdinand will be back in action for Manchester United Football Club, but he doesn’t expect it to be too long.

The England international has endured an injury-riddled start to the season, and his latest setback, a calf problem stemming from a back injury, will keep him out for at least a fortnight.

"It is back related," said Ferguson.

"We are not putting a timescale on it, but it is not a situation where we are saying it will be months, it might be a couple of weeks or it might be a few weeks but that is it."
