Albert Riera has hailed the Liverpool Football Club supporters.

The Spaniard made his debut for the Reds in the memorable 2-1 win over Manchester United on Saturday, and he was full of praise for the support the home fans offered him and his players.

"That wasn't a surprise because I knew before I came here that these fans were the best, and I knew before that this was the best home any side could play football in,” Riera told the official club website.

"I think the supporters will win us a lot of points this season because they push us on."
