Blackburn’s Samba hints at big-club ambitions
Christopher Samba is refusing to commit the rest of his career to Blackburn Rovers.
The defender penned a new deal last week which keeps him at Ewood Park until the end of the 2013/14 season, but this doesn’t mean he sees himself seeing his playing days out at the club.
“I can still get better, of course I can. I am only 25 and you see players aged 32 still getting better. Until the end of my career I don’t know how good I can get,” Samba told the Lancashire Telegraph.
“I am happy the contract has been signed and I can concentrate on playing again. It has been long discussions but both sides are happy and we will continue to work together.
“It is nice to feel an important member of the squad but I will keep playing my game and not really think about it. I have to continue playing well and prove that I am important.
“Who knows if I will finish my career here? Every player has dreams of big teams, that is not out of mind. I am still ambitious and trying to go the best way I can.”
