Burnley Football Club are keen to make David Nugent’s loan move permanent in January.

The England international cap is on loan at Turf Moor from Portsmouth for the season, and Owen Coyle has been impressed with what he has seen so far.

"David Nugent is a top-class player. If I could get him in permanently tomorrow I would love to do it,” said the Clarets boss, who has guided the club to tenth spot in the table.

Nugent has made eight Premier League appearances for Burnley this season, but only two have been starts, and he bagged a brace on his debut, which are his only goals to date.
