Benjani could be heading to Bolton Wanderers Football Club in the New Year.

The Zimbabwean international joined Manchester City from Portsmouth in January 2008, but he has since fallen well down the pecking order in Mark Hughes’s squad.

It is believed the Blues are interested in offloading him when the transfer window reopens, and they are prepared to accept offers in the region of £1.5million.

According to Sky Sports, this is likely to attract an offer from Gary Megson’s Bolton, who are desperate for some added firepower and could offer Benjani a top-flight lifeline.
