There is no chance of Daniele De Rossi joining Chelsea Football Club in the New Year.

Now their transfer ban has been suspended the Blues can add to their squad in January, and De Rossi is one of many names to be linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

However, Roma have revealed that their Italian international midfielder is staying at the Serie A club for some time, and no amount of money could persuade them to sell.

"These are baseless rumours, De Rossi is absolutely unsellable," technical director Bruno Conti told the Corriere dello Sport. "He won't go either to Chelsea or Real Madrid, nor elsewhere. De Rossi is a player of Roma today, tomorrow and after tomorrow - I don't think there is much else to add."
