Chelsea Football Club have made Antonio Candreva a January target.

The 22-year-old midfielder is enjoying an impressive season for Livorno, with his displays being rewarded with his first cap for Italy in their goalless draw with Holland earlier this month.

Gianfranco Zola had hoped to raise funds in the New Year to launch a bid for the player, who is on loan from Udinese, but The Sun claim faces being out-muscled by Carlo Ancelotti.

Now that the Blues have been given the go-ahead to spend in January they are being expected to do so heavily, and Candreva is said to be on their list of potential recruits.
