Sunderland Football Club are lining up a January move for Robert Green.

Steve Bruce is in the market for a new goalkeeper in the New Year following an injury to Craig Gordon, who could have a battle to regain his place if Green is signed.

The West Ham United number one is rated as one of the best shot-stoppers in the Premier League, and the Black Cats manager has, says the Scottish Sun, made him a top target.

The Hammers have financial difficulties and would be hard pressed to reject an offer of around £6million, some of which would then be used to lure Allan McGregor from Rangers.
