Wayne Rooney has paid tribute to Manchester United Football Club legend Ryan Giggs.

The former Wales international is celebrating his 36th birthday today, and he was in fine form against Portsmouth on Saturday when he scored and set one up in a 4-1 win for the Reds.

Rooney, who helped himself to a hat-trick against the top-flight’s bottom club, has heaped praise on Giggs, who has scored in every single Premier League campaign since its 1992 inception.

"If you'd looked at him playing today you'd never have thought he was anywhere near 36. More 26," he told Sky Sports. "The way he conducts himself, his performances are just unbelievable."
