No Manchester United deal for Matthews
05:00 PM 29 November, 2009
Manchester United Football Club have not agreed a deal for Adam Matthews.

It had been suggested that the Reds had struck a deal with Cardiff City for the 17-year-old, who has also been linked with a host of other Premier League outfits.

However, Bluebirds manager Dave Jones insists no agreement has been reached, although he accepts if United were to firm up their interest it would be difficult to deny Matthews.

“We have always maintained that if the right offer comes in for one of our players, and it is the right offer for this club we would listen," he told Sky Sports.

"It is very difficult if Manchester United are interested, for us to say stay here and see out your contract with Cardiff and forget about going into the Premier League.”
