Wigan Athletic Football Club insist Maynor Figueroa is not for sale.

Former Latics boss Steve Bruce is eager to add the fullback to his squad at Sunderland, but Roberto Martinez insists he is not offloading any of his players in January.

“We don’t want to lose players especially as we have a thin squad. It pleases me when other managers and other clubs show interest in our players,” said the Wigan manager.

“It means we are doing something right. But we don’t need to sell to balance the books. We’re in a middle of a big process and we don’t want to lose anyone.”
