Coloccini rules out Newcastle United exit
09:00 AM 01 December, 2009
Fabricio Coloccini insists he wants to stay at Newcastle United Football Club.

The £10million Argentine defender was expected to leave the Magpies in the summer, following their relegation from the Premier League on the final day of last season.

Coloccini endured a miserable debut campaign in England, but he insists he has never thought of leaving the St James Park club because he wants to help them back into the top-flight.

"I was annoyed. People were saying the only reason I wasn't going anywhere was because there weren't any offers,” said the former Deportivo La Coruna star. "That wasn't true.

“The club and myself were getting a lot of offers. All I thought about was I should stay and try to help us get back into the Premier League, as the fans had been so good to me."
