Anton Ferdinand looks set to leave Sunderland Football Club in the New Year.

The 24-year-old is struggling to convince Steve Bruce of his worth in the Black Cats back four this season, and looks increasingly like he is on borrowed time in the North East.

According to the Sunday Express, Ferdinand wants to return to the south of England in the New Year, where he previously starred for West Ham United.

It is believed Fulham and long-term admirers Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on the former England Under-21 international, who cost Sunderland £8million in 2008.
