Hull City hope to beat Magpies to Kilgallon
02:30 PM 02 December, 2009
Hull City Football Club are set to enter the race to sign Matthew Kilgallon.

The central defender looks destined to leave Sheffield United when the transfer window reopens, with Newcastle United known to be interested in his signature.

The Magpies failed with an offer to lure him to St James Park in the summer, but manager Chris Hughton is said to be confident of landing him in January.

However, Phil Brown is set to jump in and offer Kilgallon the chance of Premier League football, as he looks to find a replacement for Michael Turner who left for Sunderland in August.
