Salomon Kalou faces two weeks on the sidelines.

The Chelsea striker picked up a thigh tear during the Carling Cup clash at Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday, which the Londoners went on to lose in a shoot-out.

It has now been revealed that the 24-year-old faces around two weeks on the sidelines, which will see him miss possibly four games including Saturday’s trip to Manchester City.

Kalou is also set to jet off to the African Cup of Nations in January with the Ivory Coast, meaning he is unlikely to have a big say in the Stamford Bridge club’s fortunes for some time.
