Luke Young has hailed the strength of the Aston Villa Football Club squad.

Last year’s attempt at a top-four finish was undone due in no small part to the size of Martin O’Neill’s squad, but Young feels this issue has now been addressed.

“With the squad and the depth we've got now, if someone is tired or carrying a knock, then you can afford to rest them,” said the defender, who started in the 3-0 win over Hull City on Saturday.

"When the team is winning and doing well, I am not sure the manager likes to change it too much. But circumstances that have made it happen and we are stronger this season to go all the way.

"Hopefully you won't see a tail end like last season and we'll be strong all the way through. At the moment it is a very united squad, and everyone wants everyone to do well.”
