The Evening Chronicle suggests the Magpies manager is not confident of landing free-transfer Sol Campbell, and has instead turned his attention to Cort.

The 30-year-old has not played for Stoke City yet this season, and it is believed Hughton is preparing an offer to take him to St James Park in January.
