Sad news for Portsmouth as Primus quits
Peter Storrie has paid tribute to Portsmouth Football Club’s Linvoy Primus.
The 36-year-old has made just one appearance for Pompey since the end of the 2006/07 season due to a knee injury, and he has now been forced to call time on his career.
Primus made over 200 appearances for the Fratton Park club, and their chief executive has confirmed he will remain on the South Coast in an ambassadorial role.
"Linvoy is Mr Portsmouth and we're sad that he will not be donning a blue shirt again. He has been a great servant to the club and is loved by everyone here and in the city,” said Storrie.
"But Linvoy still has so much to give to the club so we're delighted that he is going to be staying with us beyond this season in an ambassadorial role."
