The England Under-21 international has impressed when called upon by Sunderland this season, and is rated as one of the most exciting talents in the country.

Steve Bruce could now face a fight to keep the midfield player at the Stadium of Light, with the Sunday Express claiming Carlo Ancelotti is a fan.

If the Blues are to make a move for Henderson it would likely be in the January widow, before their transfer ban takes affect from next summer.
