Arsenal Football Club’s Nicklas Bendtner is unlikely to play again in 2009.
The Danish international underwent a minor operation after picking up a groin injury against Tottenham Hotspur in November, but he was expected to feature in the festive programme.
However, Arsene Wenger has now revealed that Bendtner has suffered a setback with his recovery, and the 21-year-old has now been ruled out until January.
"Let's say the New Year,” the Gunners boss told the official club website. "It is quite disappointing because he looked quite sharp and he was short from coming back into the squad."
