Henderson positive of Sunderland impact
02:45 PM 12 December, 2009
Jordan Henderson remains positive he can make an impact for Sunderland Football Club.

The 19-year-old has been drafted into Steve Bruce’s first team plans recently following the injury to Lee Cattermole, but after a bright start his form appears to have dipped.

However, Henderson is refusing to be downbeat over his chances of making an impact at the Stadium of Light, and remains positive he will settle into the side.

“I feel I have not played as well as I can in the last couple of games. That goes throughout the team," he told the Sunderland Echo. "But I am still working hard and I still have a positive attitude.

"People have said perhaps I'm tired and need a rest, but I don't feel that. I know I have not played as well, but my stats are still up there and I think I need to keep focusing on the good things.

"Whatever the gaffer decides to do, I will always respect."
