Time for Liverpool to forget Alonso
Javier Mascherano believes Liverpool Football Club need to get over the loss of Xabi Alonso.
The popular Spanish midfielder was sold to Real Madrid in the summer, and Mascherano feels the club and the fans need to forget about the player.
Instead, the Argentine believes the future is Alberto Aquilani, who made his first start for the club in midweek following a £20million summer move from Roma.
"We have to forget Alonso," said Mascherano. "You cannot find two players doing the same things in the world. Aquilani will give us everything he can and if he is fit he will be really good for us.
"Now little by little he'll increase his confidence and learn about English football, because it's totally different, but I think he will be really good for Liverpool."
