Micah Richards certainly has a future at Manchester City Football Club.

The future of the England international was called into question when he lost his place in the City side to Pablo Zabaleta, with Aston Villa said to be amongst his admirers.

However, Richards has worked hard in recent weeks and is back in the line-up, prompting Mark Hughes to give a glowing tribute to the fullback.

“We got to a point where Micah needed to knuckle down, and in fairness to the boy, that's exactly what he'd done," Hughes said. "He's in the team on merit, and he's playing in a winning team.

"What I say to every player is: 'If you've got the shirt on your back, work exceptionally hard to make sure that you keep it'. That's what Micah's doing at the moment."
