Chelsea to make another attempt to lure Gerrard
11:00 AM 14 December, 2009
Chelsea Football Club are being linked with another bid to take Steven Gerrard.

The Blues memorably almost lured the England international from his beloved Liverpool in the summer of 2005, before the midfielder performed a u-turn and stayed on Merseyside.

It has since been widely accepted that the 29-year-old will now remain with the Reds for the rest of his career, but their awful season has cast more doubts over his future.

Rafael Benitez’s side have lost six times in the league already, whilst they have also been knocked out of the UEFA Champions League and the Carling Cup.

The Sunday Mirror claim Carlo Ancelotti is now attempting to succeed where Jose Mourinho failed, and he will make a £30million bid to lure Gerrard to Stamford Bridge in the summer.
