Fulham Football Club are set to make an offer for Paul Scharner.

The Austrian international is out of contract at Wigan Athletic in the summer, and so far, it looks unlikely he will be penning a new deal at the DW Stadium.

Roy Hodgson is a known admirer of the versatile performer, and The Mirror claim the Cottagers boss will offer £3million to take him to London in the New Year.

Whilst Roberto Martinez will no doubt want to keep Scharner, he knows the 29-year-old would be able to leave on a free transfer in the summer.
