Clarke in West Ham United vow
11:47 AM 16 December, 2009
Steve Clarke insists West Ham United Football Club are working as hard as they can to get themselves out of the relegation trouble they are in.

A 3-1 loss at fellow-strugglers Bolton Wanderers leaves the Hammers firmly rooted in the relegation zone, sparking fears for their Premier League future.

“We're not stupid, we know the position we're in, we're realistic about it and we're working as hard as we can to turn things around,” assistant manager Clarke told Sky Sports.

Next up for Gianfranco Zola’s side is his former club Chelsea, who currently head the table, at Upton Park on Sunday afternoon.

I am a firm believer in de ja vous and here we are back to the Rodent's second season. I have supported this team since the sixties and will always support them. This makes me realistic enough to know that what I am hearing and seeing (body langauge is non negotiable) we shall be relegated. I have no doubt in my mind here. The players are not up to it, the manager, bless him is trying very hard but is almost totally out of his depth. The fans will turn on him soon as they did the rodent. Zola has far more charisma than the aforementioned disaster but fate will seal his destiney with WHU. The owners appear to be stalling for the best offer. I cannot argue with that but there is an old saying in business "Never let an Accountant or a Bank run a business".....We shall see. I see a Southampton looming and the blame must go back to that master of accountancy and deceipt...Step forward Terrance Brown...

I realize the financial situation and injuries have made life very difficult, but I really believe that the fans deserve better. Managers come and go as do players. There is only one constant in football and that is the supporters. I am now 70 years of age and have followed the hammers since a child, now my family follow suit. I wouldnt pay to watch anyone else. but because I care so much, life has been pretty miserable of late.Good Luck to the team. Hope it soon turns around.
