Arsenal Football Club will hold discussions with William Gallas in the near future.

The France international is out of contract at the end of the season, and he is free to talk to interested clubs over a free transfer in the New Year.

Gallas has overcome a difficult period in his Emirates Stadium career to forge an impressive partnership with Thomas Vermaelen, and a new deal is likely to be offered.

"The talks with Gallas have to be a bit earlier because he plays regularly," coach Arsene Wenger revealed. "We need some experience in the dressing room."
