Gary Cahill is the latest player being linked with a move to Manchester City Football Club.

Despite spending heavily on Joleon Lescott and Kolo Toure in the summer, Mark Hughes wants to sign another defender when the transfer window reopens.

Reports in the Daily Express claim the Blues boss has set his sights on Cahill, who has been superb since leaving Aston Villa for Bolton Wanderers in January 2008.

The 23-year-old has been linked with Arsenal and Manchester United in recent weeks, but City will hope to flex their considerable financial muscle to win the race.
