Martin O’Neill feels Aston Villa Football Club recorded their best win of the season on Saturday.

Villa have already beaten Manchester United and Chelsea this season, but O’Neill rates the 1-0 win over Stoke City, courtesy of a John Carew goal, as the best of the campaign.

"I thought considering everything, considering the sort of week that we had, I thought this was our best win of the season," he told Sky Sports.

"(I'm) Absolutely delighted with the team, delighted with the way we defended, just last-ditch tackles and such things like that and we prevented Stoke from scoring.”
