Curtis Davies has declared himself available for Aston Villa Football Club.

The defender underwent surgery on a shoulder injury in September and was expected to be out of action until 2010, but he has made a speedy recovery.

“I've really surprised myself coming back so soon," said Davies. "I was told I'd be out for four months but I'm back after three. I've now trained three days this week without any problem.

“I feel fine. I feel I am ready to make a comeback but, obviously, I need to get some match action to really test myself."
