Chris Hughton insists Andy Carroll is staying at Newcastle United Football Club.

Stoke City are keen to take the 20-year-old to the Britannia Stadium in the New Year, to boost a forward line which is the least productive, in terms of goals, in the Premier League.

However, Hughton is determined to lead the Magpies back into the Premier League at the first time of asking, and Carroll is a key part of his plans at St James Park.

"I wouldn't be prepared to sell him," he said. “There hasn't been a bid and we'd certainly be grateful if that's the same come the end of the window. I don't envisage anyone leaving."
