Freddie Sears is heading back to West Ham United Football Club.

The striker is on a season-long loan deal at Crystal Palace, but Gianfranco Zola has exercised a release clause to return the 20-year-old to Upton Park next month.

"West Ham have asked for him to go back in January," revealed Eagles boss Neil Warnock. "They have one or two problems up front and he is their player at the end of the day.”

The Hammers are in a dire situation as they fight relegation from the Premier League, and Zola will be hoping Sears can inject something fresh into his first team plans.
